Emma Roberts a fan of pole dancing to stay in shape

Who said staying in shape has to be a tedious task? Those who dread doing the repetitive hamster routine at the gym could do well to take inspiration from Julia Robert’s young actress niece Emma, who keeps her body trim and taut by pole dancing.

“I started taking [pole dancing] classes with friends as a way to both work out and hang out,” she told Women’s Health magazine.

“You don’t realise how much upper-body strength you need. It’s also a good way to build confidence,” the 20-year-old actress added.

Indeed, pole dancing — a combination of dancing and gymnastics — is not limited to the realm of exotic dancers writhing away in strip clubs.  In recent years it has become a popular form of exercise, perfect for building up strength, flexibility and endurance. And perfect for breaking the monotony of running on the same spot and lifting weights at the gym.

Emma Roberts is busy promoting Scream 4 and fans can look forward to seeing her on the big screen in April.
