Desperate Dana Delany’s botched Botox

The 54-year-old actress, who once uttered “I’ve tried all my life not to be a desperate housewife” has been left with a droopy eyelid after succumbing to the trendy Hollywod jab in a bid to rid herself of her unwelcome lines and wrinkles.
In a recent interviw with Prevention Magazine, the Desperate Housewives star spoke about how a nasty botox job left her with a slight droop in one of her eyes. “Something nobody ever talks about is doctor error. Seven years ago, I had never even hear about Botox. My dermatologist was saying, ‘You should try it.’ He injected my forehead, hit a nerve, and created a huge hematoma. The nerve has been dead ever since.
“It affected the muscle in my right eye, so my eye has started to droop a little bit…I was symmetrical before and now I am not. I stopped going to him right then.
“I won’t do it. My hat’s off to Jamie Lee Curtis. She’s so smart, and she doesn’t dyr her hair or anything. And Meryl Streep still looks like herself. Diane Keaton, too. I think the really actresses don’t worry about that kind of thing.”
Botox has become the jab of choice for celebrities trying to maintain their youthful looks. A less invasive form than other types of surgery for knocking off the tell-tale signs of ageing, once injected into unwanted creases the toxin has the effect of a magic wand, with the power to temporarily eradicate wrinkles and crinkles.
But as we - and no doubt Dana - know, sometimes there is a price to pay for our desperate bid to hold back the years. We could do well to look up to the dying breed of Meryl Streeps and Diane Keatons.
