If you come across anyone suffering from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, then instead of criticizing, you must acknowledge their creativity and out of the box thinking because it is assumed that sufferers of ADHD have genius minds. It should not necessarily be labeled as a deficit, but rather the inability to focus on one task for a longer time.

American actor and comedian Robin Williams is generally assumed to have ADHD. His continuous speaking without thinking indicates some signs of ADHD in his behavior.

Robin Williams creatively used his ADHD behavior in his films and comic acts and that is the main reason behind his successful career with films like ‘Good Will Hunting’, ‘Mrs. Doubtfire’ and ‘Jumanji’, to name only a few. He first rose to stardom as an alien in the 80s TV series ‘Mork and Mindy’, and has also celebrated success as a stand up comedian.

He is famous for exuding incredible amounts of energy, his impulsiveness and his hilarious monologues. He used his ADHD symptoms to establish a solid comic career for himself, and as one ADD blogger said: “I saw Williams at the height of his comedic genius.

“The entire show was devoted to audience members tossing topics to Williams and letting him run with them.

“There was nothing scripted in his ninety minute laugh fest.”

Robin Williams was reportedly a quiet person in his youth and joined drama classes, where amazed everyone with his out of the box thinking and his comedy par excellence. This can be seen as the positive side of the sufferers of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder because they are extraordinary and have some spark in them. Robin Williams always used his comic timing along with his undying madness to make people laugh and restating this he said, “You’re only given a little spark of madness. You mustn’t lose it.”

Robin Williams showed his talent in many films but when we observe the body language in those roles, it shows that he is suffering from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. But Robin beautifully used his comic excellence to overcome this thing and that is the reason behind his success. Some other famous people suffering from ADHD include Pablo Picasso, Michael Phelps, Wright Brothers, Leonardo Da Vinci and George Bernard Shaw.

Other celebrities who have been diagnosed with ADD or ADHD include Will SmithMichael PhelpsJim Carrey and Jamie Oliver.
