Diet another day Pierce Brosnan

Having hung up his Walther PPK and given the mantle of James Bond to Daniel Craig, Pierce Brosnan appears to be enjoying a life of leisure. The 57-yearold Irish-born actor who enjoyed much success as the eponymous Remington Steele in the 80s hit show took over Bond duties after Timothy Dalton stepped aside in 1995.

His final role as James Bond was in the 2002 release of Die Another Day but it looks as if Pierce is thinking more along the lines of Diet Another Day. More concerned with environmental issues than his expanding waste, he and his wife Keely Shaye are set to move into their custom-built Malibu beach front apartment which features solar panels, recycled wooden floors, non-glare windows and an efficient waste disposal systems.

In truth, Brosnan is a picture of health for his 57 years and clearly enjoys a healthy lifestyle. He has never been the kind of celebrity to derail when faced with adversity. A responsible environmentalist, he has been an ambassador for UNICEF Ireland since 2001 and was awarded an OBE in 2003 for outstanding contribution to the British film industry.

His beliefs and values have always been first and foremost in his life as was proved when he boycotted the French premier of Goldeneye to join a Greenpeace protest against the French nuclear testing program.

Young people looking for a role model could do worse than follow his lead as his selfless acts of kindness are a beacon of virtue in a world that sometimes forgets what it means to share.
