Justin Bieber, Britney Spears and Ellen DeGeneres combine forces to help paralysed children

Justin Bieber, Ellen DeGeneres, Lady Gaga and Britney Spears are at the centre of a new campaign to help three children in Houston who were orphaned as the result of a horrendous car crash which also rendered two of them paralysed.

Amid more fan outrage at his non-split with Selena Gomez, Bieber must be glad of the relief from the fierce vitriol levelled at his girlfriend and notching up more points for his entrance fee to the new Jerusalem by helping others.

Justin Bieber promotes 'Show Your Hearts' and is still an item with Selena Gomez.

Britney Spears must also be glad of a diversion from a pending lawsuit in which she was accused of extremely poor hygiene and sexual advances by a former bodyguard who feels that $10m should be enough to ease the burden of the trauma inflicted by the wind-breaking Spears.

Britney Spears is taking time out from being smelly to promote 'Show Your Hearts' with Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga and Ellen Degeneres.

The pair, along with Ellen DeGeneres are busy promoting the campaign called Show Your Hearts and asking fans via Twitter and Facebook to donate to the cause in order to help 9-year-old Peter and 8-year-old Aaron who were both left paralysed, as well as their 6-year-old sister who was also injured in the car crash which occurred on July 2nd.

Ellen DeGeneres is lending her celebrity backing to 'Show Your Hearts'.

The all-star backing doesn’t end there as the Houston Rockets also asked fans to chip in with donations before their game last Wednesday stating that all proceeds will go to a trust fund set up for the orphaned children.

Aiding these young children is a terrific cause and with such powerful publicity their campaign is bound to do well for them. The need for a public drive is however quite unnecessary as, if Bieber, Spears and DeGeneres truly felt that strongly about it, they could donate a large sum of cash each, set the children up for life and not have to make a public display of it.

One of thousands of children who are affected by war but is probably not helped by major celebrities.

It is also a shame that these same celebrities cannot find it within themselves to promote bigger causes and help more children who are also left in similar circumstances or worse - perhaps by atrocities of war or famine such as the children of Yemen, Libya, Egypt and countless other African nations.

DeGeneres does to a certain extent, but Bieber and to a lesser degree, Spears, have only ever served their own needs.

While perhaps sincere in their thoughts, the trio are in fact gaining heavily from the publicity that promoting such causes brings about. That may be harmless enough but most of that publicity will only serve to sell records, DVDs and books, the profits from which are unlikely to save the lives of millions of unnamed, unknown children elsewhere in the world.
