Ina Garten gets pre-Thanksgiving Google Doodle

Published: November 23, 2020

Google are gearing up for Thanksgiving by celebrating each build up day with a new doodle.  Today sees a culinary wonder in the form of Ina Garten recipes.

Clicking on the doodle will take you to a Google page which contains six different Thanksgiving recipes for a Perfect Turkey Roast, Popovers, Smashed Sweet Potatoes, Roasted Brussels Sprouts, Cranberry Fruit Conserve and Pumpkin Banana Mousse Tart.

The two O’s in the centre of Google have been replaced with some mouth watering images of Thanksgiving dinner ingredients which should really set appetites raging for the big day.

As a side note, here’s a little known fact.  If you click “I’m Feeling Lucky” with no search items in the text box, your browser is transported to a page which features all the latest Google Doodles, so if you can’t wait to get to those delicious Ina Garten recipes, simply do that.

Ina Garten was born February 2nd, 1948 and is an American Author, the host of Barefoot Contessa (a Food Network program) and was formerly a White House Nuclear Policy Analyst.

She is most notable for her quick recipes which centre on healthy ingredients and easy cooking.

Garten decided to quit her government job in 1978 after she read an advert for a specialty food store in Westhampton Beach, New York. The store carried the moniker Barefoot Contessa.  Four years after taking over the store she told the New York Times, “My job in Washington was intellectually exciting and stimulating but it wasn’t me at all.”

She has advocated many healthy diets including low-carb and high protein which have been followed by celebrities and everyday people alike, and her recipes featured on the doodle will be a great help to those stuck for Thanksgiving ideas.

Tomorrow’s doodle is being kept a closely guarded secret but no doubt Google have something equally as special up their virtual sleeve.
