Located in the undisturbed environments of Malibu and West Los Angeles, Promises provides expert medical care and psychoanalysis, collaborative treatment involving the families allowing the bridging of relationships and a committed plan of action.

Promises center for treatment provides expert and individual treatment for a number of concerns that includes:

- Alcohol

- Cocaine

- Oxycontin

- Heroin

- Methamphetamine

- Barbiturates

- Vicodin

- Codeine

- Benzodiazepines

- Marijuana

- ADD/ADHD

- Depression and anxiety

- Other addictions and disorders

A number of people including celebrities have been treated successfully at the Promises center and have gone back with confidence to deal with dependency.

Robert Downey Jr. entered the facility after years of getting in trouble with the law. Known as one of the bad boys of the 1990s, he battled an addiction to heroin, cocaine and alcohol, among several things.

Britney Spears suffered a very public mental breakdown after splitting with her husband Kevin Federline. In early 2007, after being transported off to hospital under Code 5150 and publicly shaving her head, she entered Promises in order to get her life back on track.

Charlie Sheen was another Hollywood star in the news more for his bad behavior than for his work. In May, 1998, after several run-ins with the law, Sheen injected himself with cocaine, causing him to overdose.  One month later he realized he had a serious problem and checked into Promises to overcome his addiction and stop his substance abuse.

Ben Affleck

Ben Affleck, Hollywood’s darling, faced a silent battle against alcoholism. When he decided to seek help at Promises, many had no idea he was addicted and had problems with substance abuse. Charlie Sheen organized for Affleck to stay at the rehabilitation facility in 2001 after he succesfully completed his treatment three years earlier.

Matthew Perry is famous for his role as Chandler Bing on the hit TV series ‚Friends’.  However, unlike his sarcastic and eager character,  Perry, finding it difficult to cope with the immense success of the show, became addicted to alcohol and pills. After successfully being treated at Promises in 1997 and again in 2001, Perry said that during his addiction was consuming 20 to 30 pills in one day, and drinking at least one bottle of vodka on top of that.

With the help of institutions like The Promises Center, drug withdrawal symptoms like nausea, vertigo, fatigue and others can be dealt with under professional supervision.

There are many celebrities with addictions. Some include Burt Reynolds, Charlton Heston, Melanie Griffith, Lindsay Lohan and Michael Jackson.
