New molecule inhibitor to treat stress, anxiety and depression

Published: April 13, 2020

A recent study conducted by the team of researchers has found a common link between stress, anxiety and depression.  The research study was conducted by the scientists at University of Western Ontario. According to www.medindia.net, the interaction between certain kinds of serotonin receptors (5-HTRs) and cortirotropin receptor1 (CRFR1) could be the common link between the three mental states. The team of researchers mainly worked around with the behavioural mouse model in order to reveal the connection between anxiety, stress and depression.

As per www.inditop.com, the team of researchers have also successfully developed a molecule inhibitor that is being considered as a potential cure for treating depression, anxiety and allied disorders. The group of researchers is now working to take the molecule to the next stage and turn it into a prospective pharmaceutical drug so as to make it available in the market. The research was based on a number of molecule experiments in order to examine the inhibitor.

Another celebrity who battled depression is Owen Wilson

“Our findings suggest there may be an entire new generation drugs and drug targets that can be used to selectively target depression, and therefore treat it more effectively,” remarked Ferguson, professor at Western’s Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry and lead author of the study.
