Ashlee Simpson-Wentz battled a ‘minor’ case of anorexia

Published: January 18, 2021

A well-known and beautiful American singer and actress, Ashlee Simpson had a stint with anorexia at the age of 11. The younger of the famous Simpson siblings, Ashlee had a passion for dancing since her childhood and avidly took ballet classes. This was the time when Ashlee Simpson became conscious about her body shape and image due to the influence of her friends and classmates, which led to Ashlee being anorexic. “I was around a lot of girls with eating disorders, and I actually had a minor one myself,” the now 25-year-old said.

At the time she could not prevent herself from being influenced by her peers, and succumbed to the eating disorder herself. Of the time, she told People Magazine: “It was about six months of not eating too much at all. I was 11 and 5 feet 2 and about 70 pounds. My parents stepped in and made me eat.”

Now healed and leading a healthy lifestyle, Ashlee opts for the more feminine figure.

“I think I have good curves, and they’re womanly,” she said.

“I hate it when girls lose their curves.  I think it’s sexy not to be a bone and it’s sad when people get too weight-conscious and don’t look in the mirror and see themselves as being as beautiful as they are.”

Now with all the curves and flaunting a sexy body, Ashlee, who is also the mother of Bronx, born in November 2008, is on a regular diet and seems healthier than before and today she admits that family support really helped her in fighting her disorder.

Other celebrities who have suffered from eating disorders include Mary-Kate Olsen,Sharon OsbourneDaniel Johns and Kate Beckinsale.
