High School is over: Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens split

The most popular High School Musical couple, Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens, have called it quits on their real-life romance after about four years of being an item.
Efron, 23, and Hudgens, who celebrates her 22nd birthday on Tuesday, met while filming the Disney Channel’s High School Musical movie that launched them to superstardom.
Apparently there was no cheating involved. “It was mutual. They have been together so long. It just ran its course,” a source told UsMagazine.com.
“They are still talking and still friends. There’s no drama. They just grew up.”
Vanessa has admitted several times in the past that she had an instant “connection” with Zac, insisting that their on-screen chemistry mirrors real life. “Right off the bat, we had a connection,” she told Glamour magazine earlier this year. “I think everybody could see it. When we had our audition, they paired us together. And he was adorable.”
And for those ever questioning whether their relationship was nothing more than a publicity stunt, Zac had the following to day: “That’s just f****** insane…It would have been so much easier to call it off a long time ago.”
Zac is busy filming his new movie, The Lucky One, and Vanessa is filming Journey 2: The Mysterious Island in Hawaii.
