Herbal pill cuts calorie consumption

A recently conducted study has found that a herbal pill called Zotrim cuts down the food cravings by as much as 17.6 % during a meal. The herbal tablet is apparently made from the extracts of plants - Guarana, Yerba Mate and Damiana. The study was done by a team of researchers at the University of Liverpool. According to www.telegraph.co.uk, the study was conducted on about 58 women who were healthy to overweight in their frame. These women were given the formulation before the meal and were told to feast on the buffet meal. It was discovered that Zotrim reduced the consumption of calories by about 132 calories during the meal.

As per www.marieclaire.com, the team of researchers also found a significant reduction in the consumption of desserts and fatty foods after taking Zotrim. Interestingly, women also finished the meal earlier by almost three minutes which indicated earlier satiety in response to the food.

“These findings suggest that the ingredients contained in the Zotrim formulation produce a robust acute effect on caloric intake. If sustained, such changes could benefit weight control, as observed in previous studies on the formulation.” explained Dr Jason Halford, lead author of the study at the Kissileff Laboratory, at the University of Liverpool.
