Britney Spears sought treatment for depression and addictions

Published: October 02, 2020

Born in 1981, Britney Spears got her first exposure with the Disney Channel series ‘The New Mickey Mouse Club’ when she was 13. The year 1997 marked her career as a singer with the leading all-female pop band Innosense. ‘Baby One More Time’, her first solo release, was an instant hit on her first solo album and gave her immense international recognition. Her second hit came in the form of ‘Oops! I did It Again’ in the year 2000. One of the most successful pop stars of all time, Britney has sold over 85 million records.

Britney continued to release one hit after another, and even starred in the teen movie ‘Crossroads’, proving her talent range also includes acting. Her career, however, is not the only facet of her life that interested the public and her fans. There were heated discussion whether Britney, who dated Justin Timberlake for four years until the pair broke up in 2002, was still a virgin, and whether the pop star with an innocent image had breast implants. The end of her relationship to Timberlake led to her dating a myriad of men, even marrying childhood friend Jason Alexander in a drunken ceremony in Las Vegas in January, 2004. After the marriage was annulled, Britney began dating back-up dancer Kevin Federline, whom she married on September 18. The pair starred in their own reality TV show - ‘Britney and Kevin: Chaotic’ and had two children.

Britney has a record of her hits to her name that are not limited to songs and movies, but also a good-selling perfume and vastly attended tours. But along with the success came a low phase in her personal life and things turned upside down.

After her divorce in 2007, Britney Spears was all alone and could not accept this bad chapter of her life and the fear of losing her kids became the cause of depression. She began going out in Los Angeles and was often photographed by the paparazzi looking severely intoxicated. One image in particular, however, showing her getting out of her car on a night out in which she flashed her genitals, illustrated how low the star had sunk. After a quick attempt in rehab in the Caribbean and a stint shortly thereafter shaving her head, she finally acknowledged she had a problem.

She admitted herself to the Promises Residential Treatment Centre and underwent treatment for alcoholism, drug abuse and postpartum depression for almost a month. With all the services offered by the Promises Centre, Britney successfully completed her month long treatment program and now is getting back to her usual life with greater vigour and determination.

The Promises Malibu facility is specially designed for all the celebrities, business tycoons and government officials who look for the best services along with very high level of privacy. This centre is the choice of many stars that come here to overcome their addictions. Tara Reid of American Pie fame, Ben Affleck, Matthew Perry and the illustrious singer Britney Spears brought their lives out of darkness by the services of the Promises treatment centre.

Other celebrities who have entered rehab include Lindsay LohanBritney SpearsBen Affleck and Charlie Sheen.

A minder suing Britney for millions of dollars because of sexual harrassment? I find it tough to feel sorry for a minder who says he is being picked on.

Imagine what it is like being in Britney’s situation where she is not even allowed to be on her own along with her children. It will be good if she stops blaming her father for it and works on showing everyone that she is a good mum.

Please do not seek advice from an astrologer Britney! When your relationship is experiencing problems you should go to a marriage councellor.
