Published: January 17, 2021

Born in 1965, Charlie Sheen is a famous American actor that comes from a family of acting, including father Martin Sheen and brother Emilio Estevez. He started his acting career at the age of nine in ‘The Execution of Private Slovik’.

With ‘Red Dawn’ in 1984, Sheen’s acting career began to take serious shape. Some of the great works includes  ‘No Code of Conduct’ and ‘Platoon’. Popularly known as the bad man of the Hollywood, Sheen’s success story came to a halt when he started consuming large amounts of drugs and alcohol. In May, 1998, after several run-ins with the law, Sheen injected himself with cocaine, causing him to overdose.  One month later he realized he had a serious problem and checked into Promises to overcome his addiction and stop his substance abuse.

Charlie Sheen was admitted to the Promises Rehabilitation centre for the drug and alcohol overdose after the signs of troubled walking and burning sensation in the body. This ‘Two and a Half Men’ star underwent their addiction treatment and in a short span of time, he came clean out of the Promises Malibu centre and in 1999 he was back on the track and continued making and writing more films.

The Promises treatment centre is a great place for all those who want to regain control of  their lives. Treating the person on the whole and their condition is the speciality of the treatment programs offered at Promises. The highly skilled and professional team at the promises deliver comprehensive and detailed treatment programs. Many renowned personalities are the alumni of the centre including Ben Affleck, Britney Spears and Matthew Perry.

The courage and the will to come out of the drug abuse circle, Charlie Sheen is a changed man now. Later he became a role model for other celebrities like Ben Affleck, pushing them to get treated. The Promises centre had a huge impact on Charlie Sheen’s life and helped him get over from his addictive habits.

After his failed marriage to Bond Girl Denise Richards, Charlie is currently happily married to his third wife, Brooke Mueller, with whom he has two children. He is also enjoying a successful career with his hit TV sitcom ‘Two and a Half Men’.

Other celebrities with addictions include Johnny Cash, Drew Barrymore, Liza Minnelli, Lindsay Lohan and Mickey Rourke, to name only a few.

Charlie is not a half- brother to Emilio Estevez, he’s a full brother. Emilio kept his birth surname as a son of Ramon Estevez aka Martin Sheen. Carlos Estevez is Charlie’s birth name, and he changed his surname to Sheen to honor his father’s long acting career. Get your facts right guys!
