Lindsay Lohan and father Michael break the ice in touching reunion

Lindsay Lohan and her father Michael have broken the ice after months of no contact with an touching get together at theBetty Ford Center where the recovering star has been receiving treatment for drug addictions.

It is no secret that the duo’s relationship has long been a volatile and troubled one, but today there were signs that they may be trying to give it another go. A source told RadarOnline.com: “It was an emotional reunion…there were hugs, kisses and even a few tears when Michael and Lindsay first saw each other.”

On many an ocassion Michael, who like his daughter has a somewhat stained history with a number of run-ins with the law, has evoked the wrath of his daughter. When it comes to blaming others for her problems, the 24-year-old has quite blatantly pointed fingers at her tattling “pathological liar” of a dad, tweeting earlier this year: “When will it ever end… it’s been going on my whole life with him - hasn’t he caused enough pain?”

Perhaps the 50-year-old fame monger is learning that feeding the frenzied media with information best kept private is the way to move forward. The pair spent hours together, first chatting away at the clinic and then moving on to a shopping mall, also paying a visit to a jewelry store where they apparently devoted some serious attention to the bling . When asked about the reunion, Michael said: “I have pledged not to comment about anything relating to his daughter.”

Of course he could’t quite manage to remain absolutely hush hush, adding:“However, what I will say is that I am an incredibly proud father tonight. My daughter is progressing extraordinarily well.

As revealed by RadarOnline.com, the Hollywood wild child has agreed to undergo therapy with her dad in attempt to deal with the negative feelings she has been harboring for him. This “whole new approach” to their relationship and dealing with the demons of the past may be just the thing Lindsay needs to move forward and start taking responsibilty for her actions.
