Just hours before he was due to perform at an Olympics 2012 event, Bristish music legend Brian Ferry was admitted to hospital where he underwent a series of tests after taking ill.

The 65-year-old star, who recently completed a demanding world tour with Roxy Music and was due shortly to start a solo 33-date world tour, has — according to a friend — been in poor health of late. “Bryan has been rough for some time and he felt event worse today,” Daily Mail reports. “So, he thought it was best for the doctors to look into it. We’re all obviously very concerned for him.”

Initially there were concerns that he suffered from a heart attack, but his spokesperson has quashed these rumors and said that the tests being run are a “precautionary measure”.

Ferry,  the epitome of style and charm and the man behind hits with his former glam rock band Roxy Music such as Love is the Drug and Angel Eyes, recently admitted he has lost some of his oomph when it comes to performing live and has been quoted by The Mirror as saying: “I’m more at home on stage now than I was. Mind you, I’m glad we’re not doing one every night.”

There has been no comment as to whether his hectic line-up will be affccted by his health scare.
