Ellen DeGeneres was hypnotized on TV to quit smoking

Published: November 24, 2020

Ellen Lee DeGeneres, the American stand-up comedienne, television hostess and actress realized her responsibility as a celebrity and decided to give up smoking once and for all. After several failed attempts, she brought out the big guns and allowed herself to be hypnotized by famed British hypnotist Paul McKenna.

Paul McKenna successfully hypnotized the comic in an episode of her talk show, ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’. When he used his mind-bending powers to help her kick the longstanding smoking habit, the TV star was brought to tears. She sobbed when she was put in a trance and admitted that her efforts to quit smoking for good had failed.

TMZ.com quotes McKenna as saying: “Your brain’s like a computer, what we’re gonna do is reprogram it so that smoking doesn’t mean the same thing again.”

Contactmusic.com quotes DeGeneres as saying: “I quit smoking! I’ve been wanting to say it but I thought I can’t say, ‘(I quit) yesterday,’ then you’re gonna be, ‘Oh you didn’t really quit then.’ It’s been about two months now and I know I’m done completely.

“I was really ashamed of it. Nobody’s proud of it. People smoke and I smoked, but it’s a bad habit. Nobody ever announces bad habits. I’m announcing it ’cause I’m proud of it ’cause it is so hard to do. So you announce when you quit, but nobody announces when they start…“

Grateful to McKenna for helping her overcome her unhealthy addiction, DeGeneres (as quoted by healthwithhypnosis.com) told him: ”You’ve helped me tremendously and probably saved my life and definitely changed my life. Build up the good things in your life and the smoking will go away by itself.”

    This is very interesting.

I’m usually skeptical of things like hypnotherapy. I’ve been smoking whitecloudecigoutlet.com and weeing myself off the e-cigarettes. It’s working very well, but maybe I’ll do hypnotherapy as well just to be TOTALLY sure. (Note that I said “MAYBE!”)

No matter how you kick the habit it’s gonna be hard. If hypnosis is good for you go for it- if not there are many other options. All you need is a strong will.
