Singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett has been taken to hospital after falling from stage at a concert in Australia on Wednesday 26.

Doctors at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney said the 64-year-old musician was in a stable condition four hours after he was admitted, CNN cites spokeswoman Denise Coughlan as saying. She would, however, not disclose any details about his injuries.

The country’s Daily Telegraph newspaper quoted witnesses saying Buffett fell from the Hordern Pavilion stage to a sell-out crowd after singing “It’s been a lovely cruise, I’m sorry it’s ended.”

The US-based musician, best known for his 1977 hit Margaritaville, was then immediately taken to hospital, the paper reported.

According to the AFP, the paper quoted concert-goer Dan Bateman as saying: “It looked like he did a massive face plant after his encore and pretty much didn’t get up.

“We were told to leave the premises. No one really wanted to leave because everyone was anxious to know if he survived the fall. Everyone was pretty horrified.”

Buffett had already performed three sold-out shows in Sydney and Wednesday’s act served as an addition due to fan demand.

“The doctors say he is doing well and will be released tomorrow,” his rep said in a statement, according to People. “More info as we get it, and thank you for all of your well-wishes!”

Other celebs who have recently sustained injuries include actor Hugh Jackman, reality TV star Tila Tequila, NFL star Eric LeGrand, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and TV presenter Kelly Ripa.
